Walking around SNU's campus with my boy today and we found a collection of works written by the campus' queer group (which I'll talk about in a later post). One of the pieces talked about a 캐붙이.
캐붙이 (kae-bu-chi)
캐 is another way to say 'very' or 'quite'. 붙이 is from the English 'butch'. It is used as a noun. Here is an example from 두발 자유를 허하라 by 에쎌 (pen name) in the 13th issue of SNU's Queerfly:
안경을 쓰고 거울을 보니 캐붙이가 요기 잉네. (Wearing glasses and looking in the mirror is a very butch woman.)
Hopefully I'll find some more good words in this anthology.
I think Amber from f(x) is a pretty good example of a 캐붙이.
