Another long but enjoyable weekend, filled with several firsts, including my first Korean wedding (for the next post, when I am not exhausted and do this interesting experience justice) and my first soccer (football) match ever in Korea (and, come to think of it, ever ever) on Saturday.
And, for whatever reason, WordPress put these photos in reverse chronological order. So, in case you ever wanted to go back in time …
Cheers! Or, gonbae!
Plenty of food to absorb the soju and beer.
We were discussing how photos really up close can look a lot less attractive as opposed to from a distance. From a distance, my nose is not nearly this bulbous.
Some post-tie game brews.
As seen from Gudeok Stadium
The lovely ladies at halftime.
Even free semi-professional soccer matches feature beautiful Korean dancing girls.
Opening ceremonies, which include the western “ambassador.”
Beat the drum softly. Or, very loudly. Just before we had gone for lunch, “The Mighty Joe” found this used drum on sale for 30,000 won.
Our ambassador. They love him so much, they made this cardboard cutout (and you thought he always carried a soccer ball around).
Adrian crazy eyes the camera, excited for the match.
The author crazy eyes the camera.
