Seoul, South Korea — On the last day of the 4-day Chuseok holiday, my sister, Danny and I visited the Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art. Before we went in, we randomly grabbed some late lunch at an Italian resto in Itaewon. The neighborhood is famous for diverse international cuisines, because there are a number of embassies located in the area. Hence, it’s flocked with many tourists, expats and foreign businessmen. It’s also a good place to set aside Korean dish for awhile, though it could be a costly food trip.
Upon entering the bistro, there was not a single foreigner in sight. They probably were not craving for Italian food that time.
We were given complimentary bread after they took our orders. We had salad with prosciutto, arugula and sun dried tomatoes, bacon and jalapeño pasta, and seafood risotto in tomato sauce. I liked the salad and pasta best. Although the pasta was slightly spicy but not the same spiciness as any Korean dishes.
The main shop of Grandciel is located at Dosan Park in Sinsadong, Gangnam district.
