Come to Korea - Break a Leg

Sometimes I simply don't listen to my body talking to me.  "The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak".  Sometimes I forget that father time is always at work and will backhand you just to remind you you're on his shift.

Well, I was just backhanded.

Waiting to hurt someone
I've been in and out of training because of holidays and a lazy mind.  Yet, I still thought it was a good idea to go visit and work out with a college judo development team at Dong-eui University in Busan.  Don't get me wrong - it's amazing to see how things differ from back home.  That one can go to college and study judo in Korea.  (You can read about it here).

After being fully fatigued by the end of practice, I ended the night with one of the superstar high school attendees.  Half of the class was high school students who were going to be studying Physical Education in college, or just wanted high-level training.  The student asked me if I wanted to go the last round with him and I initially declined.  Partly because I couldn't speak, but also because I just wanted to sit down.  There was a girl practicing there who spoke English and I told her to tell him I would go against him the next round.  There was no next round.  I felt bad.

I should've just sat down as he was walking away.

Charlie is disappointed in me
The good news is, I get to sit down all the time now.  Immediately following my round with this player, I knew something was up with my knee.  As the night went on, it became progressively more painful.  I knew something was wrong.  The next day it hurt to lift my leg out of bed.  Excruciating pain in my knee and calf.  I thought it may be an ACL tear and it sure had all the signs.  I was ticked at myself.

I went to the hospital the following day and was put in a full leg fitted brace.  After 48 hours of immobilizing my leg and a slew of pain killers, I believe it was only a bad sprain.  It's going to be a while before I'm back at it again.

Why don't I just play golf?!
