On a windy, chilly, and cold day, I set out to visit the Korea town with many many layers on and of course my ushanka.

There was house on the back of Harvard street that I swear, looked like the movie from UP.  Scroll down and you’ll see what I mean!

Not as big as I imagined, and the shops were not consistently Korean.

They were mixed with Italian, Mexican, and other Asian ethnic shops.  I still managed to get some hot Dakgaejang Kalgooksoo (닭개장 칼국수) soup at the local Bibim restaurant.

Because of the weather, I didn’t see many people wandering the streets or local Koreans gathering to talk about the latest gossip or what have you.  So I just took as many photos of the Korean shops that offered everything from eateries, convenience stores, hair salons, to delivery services.

The street that is known to be the Allston-Brighton Korea town in Boston.  Very discreet compared to LA and NYC.

FYI if you type in K-town in Boston, you’ll most likely get the restaurant called K-town which offers marinated chicken and sliced radishes right to your door !

The local hair salon was sporting the only Korean flag that I saw on Harvard Avenue.

There was an insurance agency that offered both Russian and Korean services, and  it made me wonder if any Koryo-sarams were inside! Could have just been a Russian agency that hired a few Koreans, but I didn’t want to go in and ask.

All in all, the area was nothing too out of the ordinary compared to other Korea towns except smaller, discreet, and hard to tell that it was considered a Korean enclave unless you googled it.  But I’d still check it out, even if it’s just to look at that house from UP !

So what are you waiting for ? Adventure is out there !
