Sometimes it can be hard to find a good sandwich in Korea. Admittedly, in Itaewon, Seoul it’s a lot easier. One of the places I like to visit there is Rye Post.
The lights bouncing off the hardwood floors and brick walls contribute to the great atmosphere. Not as good as my favorite places in the states, but the Vietnamese banh mi and Mexican torta at Rye Post are the best that I’ve had in Korea. They also have fresh salads, cookies, and a daily-rotating soup.
What I really like is that you can buy big 3-pound Sourdough Loaves , naturally leavened with wild yeast and chock full of probiotics. They currently have three kinds of sourdough: Regular, Olive, and Pecan & Cherry.
Their hours are 11:30am to 10:30pm, but their last orders are accepted at 10:00pm. They are open 7 days a week.
Directions: Out of Itaewon Station exit #4, turn back toward the intersection. At the intersection, turn right. Take your first right and look for Rye Post.
