A few times a year, Busan city does something amazing. It closes down it’s famous Gwangali Bridge to cars and allows people to walk across it or in this case “run” across it. The ADIDAS MiRun is a yearly race that is open to all (if you pay the entrance fee) and allows competitors to run around the Gwangali area.

The main star of the show is of course the bridge but what most people forget is that when you get to the other side, you do have to get back to BEXCO, the starting point. However, there are support vehicles if you absolutely can’t finish and they will take you back to the start. The catch is that they follow the final racers, so you will crawl along behind everyone.

One of the best pieces of advice that I can give is to get there early. Of course most would want to shoot the start of the race but once you get to the main section of the bridge it will be full of racers. One of the coolest things that you can do is stand on the bridge without anyone else on it. It is a very strange feeling after driving across this bridge for so many years.

Overall, the event was amazing! I have to thank the staff of the ADIDAS MiRun for giving me a media badge to enter into the event. If you are hoping to shoot this event, I would highly recommend that you contact them first or head to the media tent to get yourself a badge. Of course some have found “other ways” to get on the bridge but getting a badge is quite easy and I found the staff very helpful.
