President Obama arrived in Korea Friday as part of his 2014 Asia tour. It is the presidents fourth visit to Korea. This morning he spoke at US Army Garrison Yongsan to American soldiers and their families.
President Obama spoke of the long history between South Korea and America and the strong friendship that the countries have formed. He gave his condolences for the Sewol Ferry accident. A major theme of his speech was America’s commitment to deterring North Korea from developing their nuclear capabilities.
The President thanked service members, DOD civilians and family members for their service. Ambassador Kim accompanied him.
