In Korea, you can volunteer at a shelter, foster, or adopt a dog or cat. There are several organizations but a few of my friends have had good experiences with Animal Rescue Korea. I won’t stand on my soapbox and tell you why it’s bad to adopt from pet shops, but I’d argue that you should avoid purchasing the frighteningly young and small (but totally adorable) pets in the pet shop windows.

Personally, I love animals, but I love other peoples’ animals more. I like to take part of the Pet Sitting Network, because it satisfies my want to play with animals —but for a short period of time. I cannot commit to adopting my own pet, because I think it should be a responsibility for the length of that animal’s life.

Anyway. Mostly, I just wanted an excuse to post pictures of Humphrey, the beagle puppy was dogsitting in December. ^^

About the girl

Hi, I'm Stacy. I am from Portland, Oregon, USA, and am currently living and teaching ESL in Cheonan, South Korea. Busy getting into lots of adventures, challenging myself, and loving people. Something more than an ethereal will-o-wisp.

Thank you so much for visiting and reading.
