Merry Christmas my lovely readers! I wish you all happiness and good cheer during the holiday season and of course, a fabulous New Year.
Thanks for dropping by today but there is no Korean culture post today or “favourites of 2012″. Instead I wanted to share a little of my family’s Christmas with you. In case you didn’t read my Christmas post from 2010, it’s kind of cute (if I do say so myself) story and will give you a overview of my family’s Christmas traditions.
Christmas is a major holiday for many Canadians – most of us take time off work, either to spend with family (like I do) or to go on vacation (usually somewhere warm or to ski). For me, it was always time to go home to my parents (or my grandparents when I was a child), decorate a Christmas tree, eat lots of delicious food (including tons of cookies) and watch the World Junior Hockey Championships (WJHC). No joke, sports – especially hockey – are huge in my family.
But I’ve been away from home for a few Christmases – once in Scotland and twice in Korea. Weirdly, I was more homesick in Scotland because the traditions were similar to Canada’s and it made me miss home. Christmas in Korea is quite different – I wrote about my first Christmas in Korea – so it was more of an adventure and therefore, I didn’t feel homesick.
Want to see this year’s Christmas? Here’s my Christmas in pictures. ^^
So now that you’ve seen my Christmas, what is your Christmas like?
