Love Motels are popular for short-term accommodation in South Korea. They’re relatively cheap, ranging from $40 to $60 USD. Everything about them amuse me. Castle-like exteriors, interesting discrete entrances, and additional room amenities (e.g. robes, orange juice, hair spray, toothbrushes, body and facial lotion, etc.) all add to the gritty charm of love motels.
I want to ask you all about love motel paying etiquette. From my experience and my friends’ experiences, it seems to go something like this: (1) Male foreigner and female foreigner, dutch or male pays, (2) Male foreigner and female Korean, male pays, (3) Female foreigner and male Korean (unless younger and in college), male pays.
Am I way off? Yes? No? Tell Me, Tell Me, T-T-T-T-T-Tell Me~
