Sarah Graydon, an English teacher in Gwangju, has been sick and hospitalized at Cheonnam Hospital for over a month now due to  Ulcerative Colitis and blood clots. We are told she has been through two surgeries and is going to need another soon. Obviously, her medical bills are mounting.

Worse, she has now exhausted her employment contract’s permissible number of sick days, so her employment at EPIK is ending this week. That means her medical insurance is ending too.

She needs your help. Here’s how you can give it.

1.) Donating Blood: She needs B- blood. If you have B- or know someone who does, then please donate at your local Red Cross center. You can tell the nurse that your blood is for Sarah Graydon at Cheonnam University Hospital.

2.) Donate Money: Her hospital bills already amount to roughly 7 million won. When all is said and done, the total may well be over 10 million won. Without a source of income, paying the bill will be extremely difficult, especially since she is the sole supporter of her family (her husband and son live in Colombia).
You can transfer money directly to her account. Here’s the information:

If you are not in Korea and want to donate money, you can post on the Facebook page “Let’s Help Sarah”, contact Gwangju News (gwangjunewsonline@gmail.com) for more information.

I am blown away by all the support and all the fundraising ideas that everyone has had! Thank you everyone for your help! There are still ways for you to help if you can't donate or if you want more bang for your buck:

--The Korea MacPC Guys have offered to do an auction similar to the one they did to raise money for several orphanages around Gwangju. They need donations of used, broken, or destroyed electronics like computers, video games, televisions, etc. If you would like to help with that, then please go to the event page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/KoreaMacPCGuysAuctions/

-- Doaa and Amy are hosted an event to help Sarah with Hummus, Food, Music and more last Saturday and it raised about 400,000 won! They are doing it again this weekend! Here is the event page for that:https://www.facebook.com/events/165961706896611/

--The Gwangju Juggling Club is did some busking in downtown Gwagnju last weekend and raised 125,000 won! We may do it again this weekend and you are welcome to join!

I know groups like this might be a little fishy and seem like it's spam, but I promise I wouldn't do this if I didn't think it was absolutely necessary.

Most of you probably already know Sarah Graydon and what she is going through right now. She is in Chonnom Hospital in Gwangju, South Korea with Ulcerative Colitis and Blood Clots. She has been sick and in the hospital for over a month and her bills are mounting. From what I know she has been through two surgeries and is going to need another soon.

Her employment with EPIK is ending this week and with it, her insurance is ending too. If you feel so inclined, you can help by either:

1.) Donating Blood: She needs B- blood. If you have B- or know someone who does, then please donate. (We have enough blood for now, but she may need more in the future!)

2.) Donate Money: Her hospital bills are already around 7 million won or so. When all is said and done I wouldn't be surprised if the total is over 10 million won. Her insurance ends this week and she has no source of income. To top it all off, she is the sole supporter of her family who is in Colombia at the moment.

If you can spare to donate anything then you can transfer it to her bank account:

If you are not in Korea and want to donate money, please get in touch with me or post on the group and we can figure out a way for you to do so.

If you have any ideas for way we can raise money for her, then please post them in the group. I know that if any of us were in her position, then she would do whatever she could to help us! We need to take care of each other!
