This weekend was all about homecooked food, I made chicken and chorizo fajitas, pumpkin soup and dessert on Friday night. Saturday I went to support not one, but two of the local football teams in their games, followed by a party in Haeundae for Ethan's birthday. Sunday started off lazy, but to blow away the cobwebs we went for a walk to Gwangalli to see the cherry blossoms that are in full bloom. There are streets just lined with hundreds of the trees. It really is so pretty.
I hope that everyone at home had a great Easter weekend.
Also, this weekend was the weekend that North Korea decided to declare to the world that they were in a state of war with South Korea. I've had lots of messages from home asking if everything is ok. Everything is fine, everyone is going about their usual business, and when I ask my coteachers if I should be worried they say that it's nothing to worry about, that these threats are not uncommon. When I told them at lunch time that i knew a few people with their bags packed ready incase anything did happen, and I told them they would probably make a bee line for Japan, they laughed and said that was a terrible idea due to the high risk of volcano eruptions over there.
Wandering down the pink petal streets yesterday, there was no hint of anxiety amongst the families. Hopefully everything between these divided countries will stay peaceful.
